According to this family account, one night a local family was driving home along South Marengo Pike. As they reached the curve beside the cemetery, their vehicle suddenly stalled.
The father exited the vehicle and opened the hood, attempting to get the car running again. The mother remained inside the car with their children while he worked.
While sitting in the car, the mother later described feeling a strong presence. She believed something was attempting to enter her body, and instinctively she resisted it.
She described the presence becoming angry or annoyed, at which point she felt herself struck across the face. Immediately afterward, the sensation stopped and the presence was gone.
Shortly after this occurred, the vehicle started again. The family left the area without stopping and drove home safely. The experience was never reported publicly and has only been shared quietly within the family.
